Fine art, live art, children’s art, live performance, craft beer and live music bring Leucadia to life at the 15th Annual LeucadiART Walk on Sunday, Aug. 25, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
“ We are excited to celebrate the 15th Annual event, which showcases our community’s roots in the arts with 101 artist displays, live dance performance, art demos that bring the creative process to life, exploratory children’s art activities and incredible local music,” said Annika Walden, executive director of Leucadia 101 Main Street Association.
Leucadia 101 Mainstreet welcomes back muralist Skye Walker who has been on a 14-month mural tour across the USA and has painted 29 murals along the way from coast to coast. He’s returning home in August to Encinitas and will be painting the 30th and final mural to finish the tour in Leucadia. Walker will be collaborating with the talented artist Mark Warren (a Leucadia local) on a 45-foot mural on the south wall of Royal Liquor. Walker painted the mural that’s currently there three-and-a-half years ago, but he always wanted to change it, and now with the help of Warren, they will be bringing a new vision to life during the Leucadia Art Walk.
Also returning to the event will be performing artists H2O Dance Company, whose mission is to create inspiring, accessible dance work while providing a space where artists can be supported, ask questions, and above all, create community.
Leucadia 101 will also showcase Sambamerica Dance Collective, founded by Vika S. Hernandez. The unique repertoire is inspired by various genres of dance from Latin America, primarily focusing on Brazil. Integrating Contemporary, Samba, Afro, Samba-Reggae, and other dance expressions.
Last but not least Balllet Folklorico el Tapatio de San Dieguito will be bringing their vibrant ensemble that will have the entire family dancing.

Look forward to performances by Encinitas School of Music and four free different children’s art activities thanks to The Oceanside Museum of Art, Not Nothing, The Encinitas Friends of the Arts, and Kathryn Weiss.
