San Dieguito Academy presents ‘She Kills Monsters: Young Adventurers Edition’

The San Dieguito High School Academy Advanced Drama Honors class will perform “She Kills Monsters: Young Adventurers Edition” by Qui Nguyen.

Performances will be held Jan. 15 at 4 p.m., and Jan. 16, 17 and 18 at 7 p.m.

The production is a comedic romp into the world of fantasy role-playing games, in a new edition created specifically for high school performing groups. She Kills Monsters tells the story of high schooler Agnes Evans as she deals with the death of her younger sister, Tilly. When Agnes stumbles upon Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, she finds herself catapulted into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was her sister’s refuge.

In this high-octane dramatic comedy laden with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and ’90s pop culture, acclaimed playwright Qui Nguyen offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all. Please note this show has a PG-13 rating for mild language and adult themes.

All shows will be performed at the Clayton E. Liggett Theater on the San Dieguito High School Academy campus, 800 Santa Fe Drive, Encinitas, 92024.
