The Coastal Community Foundation held its Encinitas Fund Grant Ceremony Nov. 12 at a private residence in Olivenhain.

The Encinitas Fund was established in summer of 2018 as part of Coastal Community Foundation. It is one of over 90 funds at the Foundation. The mission of the Encinitas Fund is to address local needs and to encourage philanthropy today for the benefit of Encinitas and all of its communities. Through this community fund residents or businesses can make one donation, and through pooled philanthropy, make a broader impact in Encinitas through grants to numerous nonprofits and community projects. Twenty-eight residents were founding donors to the fund. The grant committee selected three nonprofits to receive grants.
