Ada Harris School hosts 6th grade Toy Invention Fair
Sixth grade students at Ada Harris Elementary School in the Cardiff School District presented a Toy Invention Fair Dec. 19. The toy fair is the culminating event of Project Toy, an inquiry-based sixth grade toy invention project which began with research into the latest trends in toys, case studies of the features and functions of toys that have been top sellers in the past, as well as opportunities to brainstorm and sketch ideas for a product of the students’ own design and invention of a toy. The sixth graders also developed a business and sales plan for their new toy.
Prior to the event, students had been working in design teams to develop prototypes, craft product proposals, and create materials to market their products.
