Encinitas high school student wins multi-district Lions Club speakers contest scholarships

Halle Schaffer is the District 4-L6 winner in the Lions Club Multi-District 4 Governor’s Scholarship Contest.

Halle is a senior at San Dieguito Academy in Encinitas and represents the Encinitas Lions Club. As the district winner, Halle received a $4,500 scholarship from the MD4 Student Speaker Foundation and an opportunity to have her video compete in the Area Level.

Halle has competed and won at every level of the CA MD4-L6 contest: Club level (Encinitas Lions Club), Lions Zone Level (Coastal North County), Lions 4L-6 District Level Contest (San Diego County) and the Regional Level (Southern California).

The Lions of District 4-L6 (San Diego County) said they are proud to have Halle representing them in the Southern California Level Contest and wish her the best as she progresses to the final level of the contest, CA State Level Lions Club Student Speaker competition. If she wins at the final level of competition, she could win an additional $6.500 1st place scholarship. —News release
