Students at The Rhoades School in Encinitas donate more than 100 bags of food to Casa de Amistad

Students at The Rhoades School in Encinitas recently participated in a food and gift card drive to benefit Casa de Amistad, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering the education and character development of underserved children, teens and their families. Through the donation drive, which was organized by Community Serve Day 365 at Solana Beach Presbyterian Church, Rhoades School students and families donated more than 100 bags of food and gift cards to support Casa de Amistad families affected by job losses.
For the past five years, The Rhoades School’s middle school students have volunteered monthly at Casa de Amistad to mentor young students. With the program on hold due to COVID-19 restrictions, Rhoades School students were eager for an opportunity to show their support for the organization and the community at large through a donation drive.
