Camacho, who has been the principal of Earl Warren Middle School since 2014, joined the San Dieguito Union High School District in 2000 as a counselor at La Costa Canyon High School.

After six years in this role, Camacho became a counselor at Earl Warren Middle School where he served for four years, before becoming the assistant principal at Carmel Valley Middle School in 2010. In the spring of 2014, Camacho was selected as the principal of Earl Warren where he has led successfully and overseen the complete demolition and reconstruction of the school with the new campus set to open in August of 2017, according to the press release.

Camacho is a native of Pismo Beach, graduate of Arroyo Grande High School and came to San Diego to attend San Diego State University, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice Administration.

After college, Camacho worked for two years as a juvenile probation officer for the County of San Diego, before deciding to pursue a career in education. He subsequently earned a Master of Science in Counseling degree from San Diego State University before beginning his tenure in the San Dieguito Union High School District. He is also a musician.

Camacho lives in Carlsbad with his family, including his children, ages 5, 8 and 11.

School district officials said Camacho and Paige, who has accepted a principal position in Beaverton, Oregon, will work closely over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition in leadership.
