Botanic Garden talk features scientist from Jerusalem
Dr. Ori Fragman-Sapir, from Jerusalem Botanic Gardens, will present a fascinating talk on Ancient Food Plants on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at San Diego Botanic Garden. The event runs from 5 to 6 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
The Fertile Crescent within Israel has been a major center for food plant cultivation for thousands of years. The amazing and (nutritious) carbohydrate-protein diet combination was found in cereals and legumes grown in this region centuries ago.
Local residents are invited to come learn more and meet Fragman-Sapir, who has been the head scientist at the Jerusalem Botanic Gardens — San Diego Botanic’s sister garden — since 2001.
