Fuel leak shuts down Leucadia offramp

Diesel fuel leaking from a tractor-trailer prompted authorities to close an Encinitas freeway offramp on Dec. 7.

A caller told the California Highway Patrol shortly after 7 a.m. that enough fuel had spilled onto the exit from northbound Interstate 5 to Leucadia Boulevard to leave a puddle. The trucker summoned a cleanup crew.

The offramp was subsequently shut down and a SigAlert was issued, according to the CHP.
