Pedestrian killed by train in Encinitas
One person was killed Oct. 29 when they were struck by a train in Encinitas, authorities said.
The incident was reported at 7:40 p.m. on the tracks near Sanford Street and North Vulcan Avenue, according to San Diego County Sheriff’s Lt. Robert Smith. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, Smith said.
The sheriff’s Rail Enforcement Team and the San Diego County Medical Examiner were investigating, he said.
