Pedestrian hit by vehicle in Encinitas

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle early Monday morning, Sept. 23, on an Encinitas street, authorities said.
The man, who was estimated to be between 65 and 70 years old, was hit around 6:45 a.m. near the intersection of 11th Street and North Rancho Santa Fe Road, said sheriff’s Lt. Ted Greenawald.
Greenawald said he didn’t know if the man was walking in a marked crosswalk when he was struck.
The driver stopped after the collision and cooperated with deputies.
The condition of the pedestrian was not released. No other details were immediately available.
