Shoppers and diners wearing a face mask in Encinitas could be rewarded
Mask-wearing Encinitas shoppers and diners might get a surprise this Small Business Saturday and through the month of December, according to a City of Encinitas news release. Wearing a facial covering to help protect fellow Encinitans from COVID-19 could get a person a $10 or $15 gift card to an Encinitas business.
The City is funding the Chamber of Commerce and the City’s three Mainstreet organizations with $10,000 to buy gift cards to help spread some holiday cheer while helping to encourage safe shopping and dining, the news release stated. Volunteers from the Chamber, Mainstreets and City staff will be out in the community starting on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 28, (the day after Black Friday) looking for people to reward.
