Reception held for artist David Wiemers

A reception was held Jan. 24 for artist David Wiemers and his show “I Dare You Not to Smile” at the Encinitas Community Center. The collection of original artwork and giclee reproductions is “art that celebrates pop culture and life’s funny moments,” says the artist.

The one-man art exhibit opened Jan. 20 and will run through March 19, 2015.

Wiemers has reinvented himself as an oil painting artist after spending a 25-year career in Hollywood as a writer/producer. Look for a story on Wiemers in an upcoming issue of this newspaper.
