Pancake Breakfast and Carnival
The popular Pancake Breakfast and Carnival at Paul Ecke Central Elementary School (PEC) took place May 21. Encinitas Firefighters kicked off the event serving a Pancake Breakfast alongside Encinitas Mayor Kristin Gaspar. The firefighters will donate their proceeds from the breakfast to serve the needs of children through nonprofit organizations such as Rady’s Children’s Hospital, YMCA, Burn Institute, etc.
The Carnival featured a variety of rides and attractions, including a crazy hair salon, face painting, a kiddie train ride, an obstacle course, games, spin art, a cake walk and more. All proceeds from the carnival will go directly to the PEC PTA to fund school programs such as garden, art, music, PE and science.
On the main stage, children from PEC showed off their talents in the “Fiesta Showcase” with music, dancing and skits. A free magic show was also presented.
