Suspects allegedly stalk Amazon delivery truck, steal from it
The Sheriff’s department arrested a man and woman who allegedly followed an Amazon.com truck on Dec. 15 in Encinitas and stole packages after it delivered them.
Deputies at 2:46 p.m. on Dec. 15 received a radio call of a vehicle following an Amazon.com delivery truck in Encinitas. The driver of the delivery truck noticed he was being followed on his route by a Dodge Charger, and that an occupant of the vehicle would exit their vehicle and take packages from the houses after he dropped them off.
So, the driver of the delivery truck called 911 and updated a dispatcher until deputies arrived.
Deputies located the suspect vehicle and made contact with the occupants. The Sheriff’s Department stated several packages from the delivery truck were found in the vehicle as well as suspected methamphetamine, heroin, stolen mail from thirteen different individuals and a loaded firearm. It was determined the suspects are both on probation for theft, narcotics and weapons violations.
The suspects were identified as Kristina Green and Gary Withers, both residents of San Diego. This investigation is ongoing as detectives search for additional victims. Green and Withers will be booked on numerous charges to include:mail theft, possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin, felon in possession of a handgun and possession of stolen property.
