Firefighters put out SUV fire on Encinitas Blvd.

Firefighters on Sept. 17 extinguished a blaze that engulfed an SUV near the Cape Apartments on Encinitas Boulevard.

The driver of the SUV noticed smoke coming out of his speakers, pulled over and when he got out, the car burst into flames, according to Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Melissa Aquino. The fire was reported at 5:40 p.m. and extinguished not long after, said Anita Pupping, fire marshal with the Encinitas Fire Department.

No one was hurt during the incident.
