Encinitas Community Garden Grand Opening
A Grand Opening was held Oct. 3 for the Encinitas Community Garden (441 Quail Gardens Drive).
The mission of the Encinitas Community Garden “is to enhance the quality of life for the people of Encinitas by creating an organic garden that provides access to a site where locally produced food can be grown in environmentally sustainable ways. In so doing, healthy food is affordable to the members.”
Its purpose is “to increase sustainable urban food production by teaching people how to grow food, and to create a supportive community where they can share tools, skills and inspiration. When community members have access to local land for the purpose of growing food, social justice, economic security and community political participation are strengthened. As people work together to grow food and re-connect with the land, communities and families grow strong, hopeful, confident and healthy.”
Encinitas Community Garden is a nonprofit public benefit, charitable organization under Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3). Tax I.D. 27-3250492. Monetary and in-kind donations may be tax deductible.
