Encinitas police want help tracking down tracker thieves

Encinitas police are asking for assistance from the public in identifying two men that are suspected of shoplifting a pair of Fitbit Blaze fitness trackers (estimated value $400) from a Target in the 1000 block of North Camino Real.

Just before 7 p.m. on May 29, the two suspects were captured by surveillance cameras as they picked two Fitbit trackers from the display shelf and took them to another section of the store to remove the security tags. One of the suspects then hid them in his jacket.

The first suspect is a white male between 20 and 30 years old, who stands 5’9” and weighs approximately 180 pounds. He was wearing a black letterman jacket with the letters “EC 06” and “Price” on the back, black pants and black shoes. The second suspect is a white man between 20 and 30 years old, stands 5’10” and approximately 195 pounds. He was wearing a red cap, white polo shirt, blue jeans and red shoes.
