Principal named to Diegueño Middle School

The San Dieguito Union High School District Board of Trustees and Superintendent Rick Schmitt announce the selection of Jeff Copeland as the new principal of Diegueño Middle School.

Copeland was the assistant principal of Canyon Crest Academy School for the past four years and before that, served as the assistant principal at Carmel Valley Middle School for three years. Before that, Copeland worked for 14 years as an English teacher and Teacher on Special Assignment, mostly in the Vista Unified School District.

Copeland holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Columbia College Chicago, an English credential, an administrative services credential, and a master’s degree in education leadership from Brandman University.

Copeland states he is extremely excited about his new position, and he looks forward to being a part of the engaging and innovative school community at Diegueño Middle School and getting to know the students, faculty, parents and staff.
