Preschool celebrates 20 years in Encinitas
Santa Fe Christian Preschool parents and students, both past and present, joined together to celebrate 20 years of excellent early education on Jan. 21. Debbie Deardurff, SFC Preschool Director, reminisces, “For 20 years Santa Fe Christian Preschool has been a place where children thrive and families connect. We are so grateful for the hundreds of families and over a 1,000 kids in the community that have been a part of our journey.”
Over the years, Santa Fe Christian Preschool has been preparing children for school readiness in a Christian environment by encouraging social, emotional, cognitive, physical and spiritual growth. Hannah Park, principal of SFC’s Lower School praised SFC Preschool, “The Preschool curriculum is developed with PK-12 continuum in sight. The students that come to us from SFC’s preschool are well prepared; they enter ready as learners and we can see a difference of how it plays out in the classroom.”
The 20-year anniversary celebration included performances by SFC’s high school band, remarks from alumni, as well as cake and the usual party games. Guests brought wrapped board games as a birthday present for the school to be donated to the Bridge of Hope, a non-profit organization that helps San Diego families and refugees from around the world facing crisis.
Santa Fe Christian Schools opened the Early Childhood Education Center known as Santa Fe Christian Preschool in September 1995 as an extension of the Solana Beach K-12 campus. The preschool, located on the four acre campus of Shadow Mountain Community Church, was created to fill the needs of parents seeking a Christ-centered and academically sound Preschool for their child.
